Planning a Yosemite Firefall visit in 2026?
Here’s what you need to know before you go.
Based on information shared by Yosemite National Park, there is currently no vehicle reservation system planned for the Horsetail Fall Firefall viewing window, which is projected for February 10–26, 2026.
That said, February is still very much winter in Yosemite.
Expect cold temperatures, icy roads, and snowy or slick walking conditions. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, park once, and plan to explore on foot to help reduce congestion and keep roads safe for everyone.
As always, enjoying Firefall comes with a shared responsibility. Visitors are asked to follow all posted rules and nature-protection guidelines to help preserve Yosemite’s natural and cultural resources. Small choices, like staying on designated paths and respecting closures, make a big difference during this busy viewing period.
If you’re new to Firefall or want a refresher on how to recreate responsibly, the Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau has a short, entertaining visitor-education video that’s well worth a watch.
Conditions and plans can change, so for the most current and official updates, be sure to check directly with Yosemite National Park and the National Park Service website before your visit.
Save this for later, plan ahead, and help keep Yosemite wild, safe, and unforgettable.
