After only two months of development, this Yosemite Radio station website now has three full pages of sample original content on the News and Events page and 24 hours of music streaming from the Listen Now button. To listen, all you have to do is click on the Listen Now Button on any page on this site.
Working with technical adviser Steve Michelson this past week, we loaded some great music into the WinApp program on the Dell PC donated by a listener from Birmingham, Alabama, and connected that to a new MyRadioStream landing page and account on the Mac Mini, also donated by the listener from Birmingham. We began with a 14-day free trial, which is why the page has ads on it. Once we raise the money to pay for a year, we can make those disappear.
Web hosting with Blue Host’s Host Monster has now been paid for a year in advance through the Operation New Earth non-profit. Now we just need to raise some money to pay for the other software and equipment we need, including a power amp for the sound board donated by singer/guitar player Mark Nordeen. We will need live streaming software to connect the board to the computer. We have one SM57 microphone and stand, but we need a couple more mics and stands to accommodate guests in the studio in the back of the Gazzolo building.
We also need an emailer account to start an automatic email list people can sign up for to receive updates on our programming. To actually go live on the radio at 100.9 FM, we still need to raise the money to pay to move an antenna from Al Golub’s property to the grounds of the Gazzolo building on Main Street in Coulterville, and the money to pay for a 100 watt transmitter.
All of the expenses are outlined on the About page, and on the GoFundMe campaign website. Please share the link with your friends and followers on social media to help take us up to the next level.
